Start the programm checkSystem to see if you have all the modules needed: ~> ./perl checkSystem.pl ########################################################################## # # Install - first steps: # ########################################################################## o unzip the archive (XXXX is the version number): -> gunzip mafimaXXXX.tgz o extract the tar-ball: -> tar xvf mafimaXXXX.tar ########################################################################## # # Quick-Install (to test mafima): # ########################################################################## o change to the mafima directory -> cd mafimaXXXX and start mafima (e.g. in a xterm) -> ./mafima If there are problems starting mafima, look in the first line of the mafima script, if the path to your perl executable (usually /usr/local/bin/perl) is ok. o To find out where your perl is type: -> which perl ########################################################################## # # Normal-Install # ########################################################################## If everything works fine: o copy mafima to a dir in your path (e.g. /usr/local/bin/ or ~/bin/): -> cd /dir/where/mafima/is/ -> cp mafima /usr/local/bin/ o create the ~/.mafima directory in your home directory (if not already created by mafima): -> mkdir ~/.mafima o the rest is optional (if mafima can't find the pictures it will display text infos instead) o copy the gif pictures, the HISTORY and the TIPS file into your ~/.mafima directory: -> cp *.gif HISTORY TIPS ~/.mafima o copy the themes directory with all sub directorys and pictures into your ~/.mafima directory: -> cp -r themes ~/.mafima o start mafima and be happy! :) -> mafima
